2 LSS is doing the IWB CLIL project together in the History and Science classes. We will be working together from now until the end of January on Science. We will be doing various different projects tlike an experiment and a film.

After January 2009 we will be swapping subjects and studying History together.

We are very friendly and lovely and we get on well together. Our class isn't very big, but it's very nice because there are a lot of our posters and drawings. Cross Cultural Twinning

This Year 1 LSS are doing some cultural e-twinning with students from countries around the world. As part of our Social Sciences lessons we are going to create a "Voicethread" to deswcribe to the students in the other countries a little bit about life in Trentino, our area of Italy. If you look below you can see a "Voicethread" that our teacher, Seth Dickens made. Pretty soon you'll see our here too!	Here are some of the countries involved in our e-twinning project: Brazil, Australia, Slovenia, USA, Argentina, Sudan, Australia, France, Taiwan and more. We will soon be visiting the blogs of all the other students from these countries and writing comments to them.

What is it? It are procedures in which the Ego take advantage in order to avoid dangers, anguish and displeasures. Mechanisms in specific There are 6 mechanisms in specific: 1. INTELLECTUALISATION: we are agitated when we try feelings, then concurs this us to reduce the pain and the anguish. An example: a young boy who has strong sexual impulses he can hold to attends this pulsing with an intense intellectual activity, exalting the purity of the platonic love. 2. RATIONALIZATION: it is a daily defence in witch own behaviour to the others becomes acceptable. An example: the calculability is a process that characterises the world of the economy, the technology and the society. 3. COMPARTIMENTATION: it allows two condition to exist, without creating anguish and anxieties. An example: hypocrisy, to be altruist but think only about your own interest. 4. ANNULMENT: it would be to annul the effects of a word, a behaviour, an action… 5. TO TURN AGAINST IF SAME: to move an object external to if same; an affection or negative behave. An example: self-destruction, to hurt yourself. 6. REACTIVE FORMATION or INVERTION OF THE AFFECTION: something turns its opposite into make it less threatening. An example: hatred to the sister or the brother, hold it and modify it in love. These mechanisms are study by the daughter of Sigmund Freud, Anna.

Battle Of Hastings

1066 The Battle Of Hastings
	In 1066 William the Conqueror invaded England with his Norman Army. He defeated King Harold and became the new King of England. The course of history was changed forever! In 2009 Class 2 LSS invaded the computer lab to try and see if they could re-write history. In the exercise below 2LSS are re-creating the Bayeux Tapestry from the perspective of the English. We are imagining "what if the English had won?"
What if the English had won? To re-write History you will need three things: Your class notes about the Battle of Hastings from the point of view of the English. The Bayeux Tapestry Historic Tale Construction Kit. Agood historical imagination that can look at the facts from the other point of view.	Historic Tale Construction Kit
Your task 2LSS: You should produce a historic tale of at least 10 scenes. You should write your historic tale in English. Try to use the vocabulary about The Battle of Hastings we learnt in class. Email your historic tale to Prof Dickens before 4 May 2009. If you have any problems, contact Prof Dickens via email.

4 LSS Video Project. "Our Thoughts" A Vision of Italian Students Today. In Reply to Professor Mike Wesch.

This video is fruit of a long project 4 LSS have been working on this year. It’s a video called “Our Thoughts.” The video was entirely produced by us. We are posting this as a reply to Prof. Mike Wesch's video "A Vision Of Students Today." ( http://tinyurl.com/bdbfx6 ) Prof. Wesch’s video discusses the old-fashioned methods many teachers still use in class. If you are an educator and you haven’t seen it yet, you really should. It is the video above on the right. Everything you see in this video was written, organised, filmed and publicised (at our school) by the students of our class. This includes the writing of questions, posting them to an online survey host. The statistics quoted in the second part of the video are based on the online questionnaire written entirely by the class, too. We then turned all the data into the script for our video. Oh, and of course, English is our second language! Seeing as the results of our survey showed that by far the most popular means of communication in the school is via SMS, we did an experiment and organised the creation of our Flash Cards via SMS. This is why you'll see some of the flash cards more than once! The whole school was invited to reply to our survey, which asked what our schoolmates attitudes are to the Italian education system. I think you’ll agree, the results are surprising in more ways than one.

The traditional phsycology is of dualistic and philosophical imprint. Its method is deductive (speculative-rational) and not inductive (empirical-experimental):

1.In Plato (427-347 ), there is a separation between mind and body with decisive impact on the philosophical nature of the mind and man.
2.In Saint Augustine (354-430 ) the introspection is significant, as technical insulation from the outside world mediated by the senses, is the way of knowledge:
3.Descartes (1596-1650) belived in a ontological break between the body/machine and the mind/ soul, they deny each other. The spiritual nature in the introspective as way of knowledge.

In more general terms, this vision can be summarized thus:
1.The mind interacts with the body but is a separate entity from it;
2.The functioning of the mind can be known with introspection and examining ourselves.
3.Conscious and free will, indicate the unpredictability of human behavior, the result of awar decisions.

This philosophical vision prevent to see the man as being "natural" and study he with methods and tools of the natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology, etc..)

The 3 degredations of man

= cultural process formed of three steps that have wild rice man from his image of God and led to the founding of scientific psychology.

· The cosmological degredation: Copernicus refutes the geocentric theory; Man is placed in a decentralized position.

· The naturalistic degredation: Darwin said that man comes from monkeys and he is the result of an evolutionary process (darwinismo).

· The psychological degredation: Freud reveals that “man is not master in its own house” and so our actions are not governed by feelings, decisions and reasoning of which was always aware.

INTRODUCTION Scientific psychology began with the founding in 1879 of the psychological laboratory in Leipzig.

The founder was Wilhelm Max Wundt (1832-1920). Philosophical psychology sees a separation between mind and body(dualism). Scientific Psychology sees an union between mind and body (psychophysics union) and Develops a materialistic and a monistic vision.

Ernst Heinrich Weber (1795-1878), He discovered that the tactile sensation provides three types of sensations(pressure, temperature, position) he was the first to use the concept of sensorial limens.

Theodor Gustav Fechner (1801-1887) gave a very important contribution to the Scientific psychology, he read down the laws between the world of matter with the world of the spirit.

This is an interactive document (Interactive Document) He learns about the sensorial modification carries into the soul from physical stimuli.
